George Méliès’s magical silent short film, A Trip To The Moon, will be screened at Hackney Picturehouse on the 11th February with a brand new, improvised score performed live by experimental electronic musician Antwerp and accompanied by Project Mycelium and Gary Bridgewood.

Nasa recently released a massive library of sound samples on Soundcloud, including solar wind noises, rockets launching and radio transmissions. Improvising and collaborating with other musicians, Antwerp will manipulate NASA sounds to create an otherworldly soundscape.

A TRIP TO THE MOON [re-coloured]: Members of the Astronomic Club land on the moon in a cannon-launched rocket and encounter the King of the Moon and his Selenite army, who explode into a puff of smoke on being struck by the astronomers’ umbrellas.

Cinesthesia is a new collaborative platform producing live cinematic events, bringing film and music together to create engaging, immersive experiences.

Plus: visuals by Blue Marble.
