Cinemania is presented by Picturehouse and Film Hub London. Managed by Film London, the Hub is a proud partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery. This project is aimed at students. Our cinema will hold monthly screenings of films. The films programmed will be from a range of countries, genres, and forms to open the young audiences up to new filmic experiences and help them discover and develop tastes for different types of cinema that they may previously have been exposed to. We would like to create a new generation of cinema goers while at the same time creating a new type of learning environment which will benefit all students. In the Falangist Spain of 1944, the bookish young stepdaughter of a sadistic army officer escapes into an eerie but captivating fantasy world. Pan’s Labyrinth unfolds through the eyes of Ofelia, a dreamy little girl who is uprooted to a rural military outpost commanded by her new stepfather. Powerless and lonely in a place of unfathomable cruelty, Ofelia lives out her own dark fable as she confronts monsters both otherworldly and human. In Spanish with English subtitles.
