The Spirit of ’45 is an impassioned documentary by acclaimed director Ken Loach. The film focuses on how the spirit of unity that burgeoned in Britain during the war years, extended through to create a vision of a fairer, more united society. The film celebrates this unprecedented community spirit in the UK in hope that it can be rediscovered and re-invigorated…

The Liverpool Radical Film Festival has once again teamed-up with adult education charity, the WEA to programme and facilitate this event, building on a previous film screening & discussion event on the topic of radical education. In-line with the WEA’s recent programme of running political engagement events that aim to open up spaces outside of formal education where people can come to learn about & discuss issues of social and political importance, this event will use The Spirit of ’45 to initiate a multifaceted dialogue about equality and fairness within our society nowadays. In the lead-up to the upcoming general election, fostering a climate for discussions of different views is more important than ever…so join us for this FREE event…watch a great film, share your views, listen to others…and have a good time!
