As a result, renouncing every ounce of her human nature and deeply traumatised after the loss of her only son, the mother encloses herself in this dark and dank cavity in the hope of escaping the frightful hole of depression. However, matters will rapidly deteriorate, as she becomes more and more unwilling, or, better yet, unable just to be on her feet, reducing herself to a human-like feral animal. But, in the end, defeated and utterly hopeless, the anguished father will make his last stand, as he tries to salvage the remains of their shattered life; nevertheless, is there any hope left?
Plot: A middle-aged couple who have renounced civilization to live in a cave in the woods are befriended by a local farmer with mysterious ulterior motives.

Excellent movie. If this movie can it’s needs a Academy Award. Some French language with English Subtitles. Very few. Mostly English Speaking. Scotish Movie that is set in France countryside. If your into Drama with a little twist of reality. You will love this one. Will have you thinking the entire time. Still does have me thinking. Didn’t like the end wanted to know more. Mind binder ,Tear Jerker. I’ve Seen a lot of movies this is one of a kind. You don’t want to be in a Hole but Life can be hard and you have to make sacrifices or do something you don’t want to do. But you can’t let the people or animals that you love down. Love is a wonderful thing. Mental health is serious. Wonder what you would do when faced with a traumatic experience. Hope we could all be like the guy in this movie. Must see If you don’t love this movie then your not living life the way you should be. (You are a Monster)

Firstly a love Thinky films ‘the straight story’ ‘Remember’ slow thoughtful and let’s say deep.I wanted to know more about the couples history what makes a couple act some extreme? But this did not leave me thinking. Actually it left me within seconds. The concept was good (well it could have been) but a film in bits is not good unless it comes together. I felt after watching it to the end. Nothing.. Except she looked like an ill Cate Blanchett.. and why the Fire and The Boar ? And the other couple ? If someone throws a rock at you I want to know why ? I gave it a 3 because the actors gave their all, But it’s not a film id tell someone to watch, which to me is important.
