As an asian father of an asian kid, my kid floats the same. Incredible. Thank you Pixar for capturing this, it will make him very happy when he is older.

Cute
So this is a short which is about a father dealing with a kid who is different. He’s afraid that no one will accept the kid or think that the kid is an embarrassment. However it is the father who is the problem because he wants the kid to be normal and not fly. After yelling at the child and making him cry, the father realizes that his kid is normal and he lets him fly around in the play ground.

The rocks in the bag are the stereotypes that parents put on their kids. They want them to act a certain way so they weight them down with verbal abuse. They become over protective. The father later removes the bag with the rocks because he wants his kid to be free to make his own decisions.

In other words, if his kid was gay for example, he lets go of his hang ups and lets the kid be gay. He accepts his child.
