Blessed Ones is a very creepy hypnotic thriller
I was impressed by the scope of this low budget film as it explores the dark underbelly of cults. It is definitely quirky and a little disjointed at times but I appreciate it’s ambition in trying not to be a typical generic horror film. Dave Vescio really shines as the cult leader in a creepy yet subtle performance. I also like when the film ventures into the surreal, reminiscent of David Lynch. This film is a nice surprise and I think it will find a receptive audience.
